As you might have already heard, it is our understanding that as of this morning Teamsters Local 282 is striking the concrete producers serving New York City (not the concrete trade contractors).

Consequently, we understand that any producer that uses Teamster drivers to deliver concrete may not be able to make concrete deliveries anywhere in New York City, absent other arrangements.

Because this strike is at the producer-level, questions also arise as to the effect on PLA projects that have “no-strike” clauses in them – specific language of the PLA should be consulted.

We urge you to investigate your projects immediately to determine whether you have scheduled concrete pours that are or may be a effected by the strike, which of course will be of unknown duration.
