Thomas J. Curran, Partner and Chair of Peckar & Abramson’s White Collar and Regulatory Enforcement Practice Group, will present at the AGC-NYS’s NYC Safety Committee Meeting. His presentation is titled “Criminalization of Site Safety.” Mr. Curran will detail the makeup of the federal, state and local enforcement agencies, how they approach accidents on construction sites through investigation and prosecution, and how the contractor community can best protect itself against the initiative by the criminal and criminal regulatory community to sanction safety matters. Discussion will include civil regulatory aspects of what confronts a contractor following a serious accident and how the same regulators the contractor deals with all the time on “ordinary business” can actually be conducting a criminal investigation. Mr. Curran’s presentation will take place on Wednesday, September 18 from 2:00pm to 3:00 pm at the Wells Fargo Conference Center, 150 E 42nd Street, New York, NY.
