Richard R. Volack, Partner in Peckar & Abramson’s New York office and Chair of Peckar & Abramson’s Data Privacy and Cyber Security Practice, will participate in a panel discussion at the Engineering News-Record (ENR) 2019 FutureTech Conference. His panel is titled “The Future of Construction Cyber Security in the Age of the Cloud, IoT and Blockchain.” Mr. Volack will discuss the cyber security risks and corresponding stringent security and risk management obligations imposed upon all construction contractors. The panel will review real life examples of hacking and breach issues faced by contractors over the past few years, including spoofing and phishing, the theft and sale of confidential information, and the hacking of BIM and other building related IT systems. Mr. Volack’s panel will take place on Monday, June 3 from 3:50 pm – 4:35 pm. The ENR 2019 FutureTech Conference will take place from June 3 – 5 at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco, CA.
