Peckar & Abramson will be hosting its third Rising Star Educational Program titled, “Hurricane Preparedness for Construction Projects Before, During and After the Storm” on June 21, 2018 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at The Broward Performing Arts Center/Mary N. Porter Riverview Ballroom in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The program will address hurricane preparedness on construction projects by addressing risk mitigation and recovery before, during, and after a storm. K. Stefan Chin, Senior Counsel in the firm’s Miami office and Charles E. Fombrun, Associate in the firm’s Miami office, will address legal issues including negotiating appropriate contractual language such as force majeure provisions, delay entitlement/limitations, insurance considerations, and initiating claims and contractual notice obligations upstream and downstream. Industry professionals will discuss hurricane preparation plans, safety considerations, crane risks, monitoring the weather, and working with local building departments.
