Peckar & Abramson’s Miami office will be hosting a Peer Conference titled: “Pre-Project Investigation Strategies to Ensure Success and Limit Risk of Non-Payment and Subcontractor Defaults”. The conference will take place on April 21, 2015 from 8:00 am to 10:30 am in the Miami office conference center. Adam P. Handfinger and Gary M. Stein of Peckar & Abramson along with David S. Appel and Michael A. Balter of Marcum, will lead the discussion to include a list of items to investigate, including the ownership of the property and the background (financial and otherwise) of all project participants, including lenders, insurers and sureties. In addition, they will review the unique considerations for different types of project financing, including traditional construction loans, EB-5’s, Public-Private Partnerships and pre-purchase unit owner deposits.
