Published Date: April 9, 2018
On March 1, 2018, Meredith Reynolds, Senior Associate in the firm’s Miami office, participated in a telephonic presentation with the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law on the recent opinion issued by the Supreme Court of Florida in Altman v. Crum & Forster. The Court in Altman recognized for the first time that Florida’s statutory pre-suit Notice and Opportunity to Repair process is a “suit” as defined in a standard Commercial General Liability policy that may entitle contractors to insurance coverage. The presentation included analysis of the Court’s opinion and the implications of this case for the construction industry. Ms. Reynolds, along with Partner, Adam P. Handfinger, represented Altman Contractors in the case.
