Paul Monte Quoted As A Source in Law360 Article

Paul Monte, Co-Managing Partner of the firm’s New York office, was quoted as an expert source in a story written by Law360 on June 25, 2018 entitled “New York Construction Industry Watching ‘Game-Changing’ Bill”. Described as one of the most significant pieces of legislation to affect the construction industry in decades, S06686 adds a new section to New York’s finance law. If signed by Gov. Cuomo, it will require public contracts to allow contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers to ask for additional payments to cover delays if slowdowns are caused by the state agency overseeing the work. Mr. Monte said that if enacted, the new law would be a monumental change in how damages for delays are handled in the Empire State, but that it would be somewhat limited compared with similar, broader laws in at least a dozen other states.
