Peckar & Abramson Attorney David J. Scriven-Young Named Council Member for the ABA Litigation Section

Peckar & Abramson, P.C. (P&A) is pleased to announce that David J. Scriven-Young, senior counsel in the firm’s Chicago, Illinois office, has been selected as a member of the Council for the American Bar Association (ABA) Litigation Section for the 2023-2024 term. The slate was unanimously approved at the Council meeting in January and was presented to the Section membership at their Annual Business Meeting in August.

David had previously served on the Council as the Young Lawyers Division representative. After that Council role, he joined leadership in 2016 as Co-Chair of the Young Litigator Task Force and has also served as Co-Chair of the section’s Social Media, Communications, Membership and Marketing, and Audio Content Committees. David also hosts the section’s podcast, Litigation Radio.
About David J. Scriven-Young
David J. Scriven-Young is senior counsel primarily in the Environmental Law, Construction, and Commercial Litigation practices at Peckar & Abramson. He is the Environmental Practice Leader and Vice Chair of the firm’s Environmental, Energy, and Industrial Group. David’s environmental expertise includes handling Superfund cases and wrongful death, personal injury, and property damage claims as well as enforcement matters before the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and state environmental agencies. He also handles civil trials and appeals involving business and commercial disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, employment law, trust litigation, professional liability, and construction cases.
David regularly speaks and publishes on environmental and construction law issues. He is the author of the Illinois Environmental Law blog, which provides news and updates on cases, laws, and regulations involving Illinois environmental issues. David has been the recipient of several awards, including being named by Illinois Super Lawyers as a Super Lawyer from 2014 to 2023 and as a Rising Star from 2011 to 2013. He received his Bachelor of Arts and law degree from Marquette University, and Order of the Coif, from DePaul University College of Law.
