National construction law firm Peckar & Abramson, P.C. (P&A) is pleased to announce that Gerard J. Onorata, a Partner in the firm’s River Edge, New Jersey office, has been named a 2021 NJBiz Leaders in Law honoree.

About Gerard Onorata

Gerard J. Onorata, a Partner in the firm’s Construction Litigation practice, joined P&A as an Associate over 29 years ago and since then, has built a reputation as being a well-known “go-to” litigator for clients in both New Jersey and New York. Gerard handles all aspects of construction disputes from public bid protests to arbitrations and trials in both state and federal court. He has received numerous successful awards and decisions in litigations and arbitrations, and has several published decisions—some regarding particularly novel legal issues, such as an ERISA pre-emption of the New York mechanics lien law.

Gerard is a frequent author and presenter on construction law topics and has been recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers, New York-Metro Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers for his prominence in construction law. In 2019, he was named by Best Lawyers as the 2019 Lawyer of the Year in Litigation – Construction (Hackensack, NJ). Gerard received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and his B.A. from University of New Haven.
