Peckar & Abramson, P.C. Welcomes Levi Barrett, Denis Ducran, and Christopher Kinzel as Partners; Announces Additional Promotions to Senior Counsel and Senior Associate Ranks

NEW YORK, NY. – January 2, 2020 – Peckar & Abramson, P.C. (P&A) is pleased to announce that Levi Barrett, Denis Ducran, and Christopher Kinzel have been promoted to Partner.
P&A also announces the promotion of David Bennet and Tracey Williams to Senior Counsel and Navid Ansari, Shannon Azzaro, Justin Holzheauser, Dorthy Koncur, Jackson Mabry, Freddy Munoz, and Courtney Sheaffer to Senior Associate.

About the Attorneys
Levi Barrett (New York, NY), Chair of the Firm’s Contracts, Project Documentation and Risk Management practice, represents general contractors, construction managers, and subcontractors on all aspects of public and private construction contracts. He advises clients in order to effectively assess and mitigate risk, and evaluates and negotiates prime contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders. Levi earned his J.D. from Syracuse University of Law and his B.A. in Economics from San Francisco State University.
Denis Ducran (Houston, TX) works closely with general contractors, owners, architects, and subcontractors to provide practical counsel regarding the avoidance and resolution of disputes on construction projects. He offers extensive industry experience in preparing and negotiating contracts, as well as litigation, arbitration and mediation of construction disputes. Denis is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a registered architect. He earned his J.D. from South Texas College of Law and his B.Arch. from the University of Houston.
Christopher Kinzel (New York, NY) focuses his practice on representing construction managers and general contractors in construction litigation, commercial litigation, and transactional matters, and providing practical advice and workable commercial strategies for addressing existing issues and avoiding or mitigating new problems going forward. He earned his J.D. from New York Law School and his B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College.
David Bennet (River Edge, NJ) represents lenders, borrowers, developers, contractors, landlords, tenants, employers and other business clients in construction litigation, business litigation, and labor and employment disputes. He earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law and his B.A. from Brown University.
Tracey Williams (Dallas, TX) represents contractors, developers, owners and subcontractors during all phases of the construction process, and thereafter. She assists clients in managing project risk and counsels clients in contract disputes, mechanic’s and materialman’s liens, bond claims, construction defect, and other construction-related claims. Tracey earned her J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law and her B.B.A. from University of Texas at Arlington.
Navid Ansari (New York, NY) focuses his practice on construction law and complex litigation. He handles a wide range of issues that arise throughout the construction process and maintains a focus on matters involving complex, multi-party litigation. Navid earned his J.D. from Western New England University School of Law and his B.A. from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
Shannon Azzaro (River Edge, NJ) defends Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) and Directors & Officers (D&O) claims on behalf of employers. She has extensive experience defending administrative proceedings before federal, state, and local fair employment practice agencies, and provides employers with day-to-day management counseling on a wide range of employment and compliance issues. Shannon earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and her B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University.
Justin (JD) Holzheauser (Austin, TX) represents contractors, subcontractors, owners, developers, and suppliers on a diverse range of construction matters, including dispute resolution, where he advocates for clients and resolves disputes in a manner that preserves relationships and avoids significant costs for all parties. He earned his J.D. from South Texas Law School and his B.S. in Construction Science from Texas A&M University.
Dorthy Koncur (River Edge, NJ) primarily handles complex construction and commercial litigation matters on behalf of contractors, owners, developers, suppliers, sureties and other construction professionals. She regularly advises on complex matters, including civil litigation, employment law, and dispute resolution. Dorthy earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.S. from Rutgers University.
Jackson Mabry (Dallas, TX) focuses his practice on commercial and civil litigation. He represents clients across a wide range of industries in both federal and state courts on complex issues related to claims and contracts. Jackson earned his J.D. from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his B.A. from Washington & Lee University.
Freddy Muñoz (Miami, FL) focuses primarily on the representation of contractors, developers, and other construction professionals in litigation disputes stemming from contract, design, delay, defect, and insurance related matters, as well as creditors and business owners in commercial disputes. He is a Certified Public Accountant and earned his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and his B.S. from the University of Florida.
Courtney Sheaffer (Houston, TX) focuses her practice on labor and employment disputes, as well as construction and commercial litigation. She represents employers in cases involving harassment, discrimination, wage and hour class actions, breaches of non-solicitation and non-compete agreements, and misappropriation of confidential information and trade secrets. Courtney earned her J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center and Louisiana State University and her B.S. from Louisiana Tech University.
