Jerry P. Brodsky, a partner in the firm’s Miami office, and his team are helping to keep the upcoming summer Olympics in Rio on track. The Rio 2016 Olympic Organizing Committee has appointed Mr. Brodsky as Manager/Administrator of its Dispute Board Program related to the construction of non-permanent structures and miscellaneous services. With approximately 500,000 fans and 10,000 athletes attending the Games, the mission of the Dispute Board Program is to help the contracting parties building these structures manage their risks, resolve disputes and avoid delays. Safeguarding the success of the Games, especially in light of issues surrounding late completion and unused ‘white elephants’ that arose at previous Olympic Games, is extremely important.
