Two Peckar & Abramson Attorneys Appointed to Law360 2021 Editorial Advisory Boards

National construction law firm Peckar & Abramson, P.C. (P&A) is pleased to announce that firm Chairman, Steven M. Charney, and Senior Counsel, Michael Schewe, have been appointed to Law360 2021 Editorial Advisory Boards. They have been named to the Construction and Immigration Editorial Boards, respectively.
Members of the editorial advisory boards provide feedback on Law360’s coverage and expert insight on how best to shape future coverage. Only a limited number of individuals are invited to serve on the editorial boards.

About Steven M. Charney
Steven Charney, Chairman of Peckar & Abramson, is regularly regarded as a leading construction lawyer, having represented major domestic and international contractors in disputes and transactions across the country and outside the United States. He regularly serves the construction community in leading key initiatives and developing industry leading standards, including through Associated General Contractors of America and in his role as General Counsel to BTEA, New York City’s largest contractor association. Steve is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University with a dual appointment in both the School of Law and School of Engineering. He is also Founder and Founding Advisor of the Syracuse University Infrastructure Institute—first of its kind to globally to focus on Infrastructure Policy and Delivery, and to integrate all 13 colleges and schools at a leading university. Most recently, Steve co-founded Leading Construction Lawyers International Alliance (LCL), a collaboration among four of the most preeminent and select law firms and practitioners around the globe that are dedicated to the construction and infrastructure sector.
Steve often publishes commentary regarding issues applicable to the construction and development industries. He has received numerous accolades in recognition of his knowledge in construction law, including being among the few that share a Chambers USA Band 1 ranking in construction nationally, and regionally for New York. Steve received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, his M.S. in construction management from the School of Civil Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology, and his B.S. from Syracuse University.
About Michael Schewe
Michael Schewe is Senior Counsel at Peckar & Abramson and practices all aspects of immigration law, from corporate-business immigration and compliance to consular processing and removal defense. He regularly assists corporations ranging from multi-nationals to U.S.-based small businesses with bringing talent to the United States. In this regard, Michael regularly files for H-1B, TN, O, L, E and other nonimmigrant, employment-based visas as well as green card applications (i.e., EB-1, EB-2, PERM EB-3) on behalf of the employers and individuals he represents. In addition, he regularly counsels individuals on issues relating to asylum, cancellation of removal, nonimmigrant visas, family-based immigrant visas, and naturalization, among other topics. Given the intricacies and regulatory requirements surrounding immigration compliance, Michael provides employers with I-9 training sessions, internal self-audits, and representation in the event of government audits.
Michael is a frequent lecturer and author on immigration law topics. He has been selected for inclusion in the 2015-2021 editions of New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars. He received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of law and his B.A. from Marist College. Michael also holds an Honorary Degree from Peking University in Beijing, China.
